This was the second year that we here at Bigwood Bread have participated in the Sun Valley Harvest Festival event and we have had a blast each time. Ed and Heidi arranged for another year of great weather for the event and with blue skies and warm weather both the crowds and participants were happy. Our beautiful outdoor setting provided the participants with a great place to begin their night.
The crowds came early and they came back late for seconds. The first wave we found were all of the return foodies from last year that couldn't wait to see what we had on this years menu. I'll say, they were not disappointed. This year we started with our house smoked beef brisket with a maple molasses BBQ sauce and paired it with Sockeye Brewing's Power House Porter out of Boise. For those who like to have a little dessert with their meal we offered a delicious Mini pumpkin spice cupcake with cream cheese frosting to top off the tasting.
By nights end we had a ton of tasters come back to us chanting WINNER, and I will say that we take this as a huge compliment! Nothing else is more pleasurable than hearing your customers come back happy and bragging about your establishment. We do our best to make sure our customers enjoy the whole experience at Bigwood Bread and that they want to come back for more!
Thank you again to the Sun Valley Harvest Festival for putting on another great event and I will also give a should out to the Swine, Wine and Dine event in Hailey. Bryan and I went on Friday night and came home with a pig! Thats right, with a few great friends we bid on the pig from the carving demonstration put on by Joel Cox and the best part was that the proceeds went to benefit Swiftsure Ranch Therapeutic Equestrian Center. Hmmm....bacon, carnitas, pulled pork, ribs...need to get cooking!
Thanks again Ed and Heidi for another great weekend!
